We enjoyed the Lady Griz basketball game last night where the Griz beat the Sacramento State Hornets 87-76 in route to the Big Sky Championship Tournament to be held in Grand Forks. Listening while the starters were introduced, it brought back the wonderful aspect that so many of the University of Montana athletes are local kids. I often wonder if this is unique? It certainly adds to the appeal of Montana collegiate athletics. Congrats to coach Selvig on another win.I had not been to a Griz hoops contest in many years and was principally in attendance for the halftime show where our youngest, Seth, was playing his sax along with the other musicians from Missoula’s sixth grade classes who play in the Red Wave Marching Band. Zschaechner et. al. have really done marvelous work with this program. The show was fun to watch.
