Today was the annual Missoula Downtown Lion’s Club Bicycle Poker Run, a 100 mile road cycling fundraiser for the organization. I’ve had the good fortune to have been in the club since 1992 and over that time have come to appreciate the many benefits the organization has provided to the local Missoula community. The club’s principal mission has been largely focused on children and sight related matters. This cycling fundraiser has begun to grow in popularity. This year over 60 riders took part in the event. Cycling through Powell County is beautiful, allowing for views of the southern end of the Bob Marshall along with views of the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness as well. The route begins at the Bearmouth exit on I-90 and goes out to the Nevada Creek Reservoir, then returning the same route. The weather cooperated well today and fun was had by all. Thanks Lions!
